Next Week's Guest Chief Academic Officer Brian Lowney
Write a question or two that you'd like Brian to address about data & leadership in the high school setting...He was the principal for Emerald Ridge High School for the last several years.
Should we post them here on the blog? I'll go first. What are the quintessential steps to building a data culture, and how do you know if its working? What is your role in keeping data teams accountable and functional?
How do you schedule time for teams to meet to analyze data and create action plans. Also, what steps do you take when you notice teams are not moving in the right direction?
How do you develop systems to meet the needs of students who are reading three or more levels below grade level to ensure their success in other academic areas?
How and/or did you incorporate evidence-based research to assist with intervention and implementation strategies in order to address areas of concerns revealed through data collection, and how did you measure their effectiveness?
Thank you Brian for sharing with us your core values and approach to using data as a school leader. The secondary perspective was extremely helpful as well.
